What about the part where The Misfit said

"She would of been a good woman,if it had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life."

"Some fun!" Bobby Lee said.

"Shut up, Bobby Lee," The Misfit said. "It's no real pleasure in life."

What are your opinions on that part of the story? It confusedvme a lot. :?

All I can say is, I'm not sure what to really say! Except of course, for the excellent tips which have been shared within this blog. I am able to think of a trillion fun tips on how to read the posts on this site. I'm sure I will ultimately take a step employing your tips on that matter I could not have been able to manage alone. You're so thoughtful to permit me to be one of those to benefit from your valuable information. Please know how a great deal I am thankful.

To me it seems to be that the Misfit admits that he's done things that are obviously wrong by other people's standards, but they don't feel wrong to him. As a result, he resents being punished for his actions. For him, they're just pleasurable. The Misfit thinks that everything in life comes down to an all-or-nothing question about Jesus. The Misfit thinks that if Jesus was really the Son of God (which he'd have to be to raise the dead), then life has a point. The point would be to follow Jesus and his teachings. In that case, it would be clear what you should do. But if Jesus wasn't the Son of God, then life is meaningless, and there is no real right and wrong. The Misfit doesn't actually believe in Jesus, so for him life doesn't have a point and there's no real right and wrong. Do you agree with this point of view? For some unbiased opinions on A Good Man is Hard to Find, check out Shmoop.
I loved this story, I read it a few years ago. I think it must have been very shocking for the time period in which it was written.

Now mind you, I read it as a reader, as a lover of short fiction, but I wasn't so concerned with the misfits guilt or innocence. O'Connor did pretty much leave that up to us to decide. And I almost think she used conflicting elements so it would be based on the readers own subjective opinions. To me, whether he was guilty or not guilty is almost irrelevant. If he was innocent, he turned into a killer and if he wasn't innocent, he was still a killer.

I think the story was more an indictment against the grandmother. She was cranky, old fashioned, judgmental, pouty, manipulative, sneaky, and ultimately it was not only her that took them down the wrong road, after she played the children against their father so she could see the house where she used to live, but it was her that recognized the misfit and sealed their fate.

In many of her stories O'Connor seemed to have little patience or compassion for rigid, opinionated, mean, manipulative or narrow-minded people.

Exo 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
Exo 21:24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
Exo 21:25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

This is the "balance" which Jesus had broken.
Humans find logic and peace in the above law and have had considered it as a perfect balance.
The Love can not be accepted as a balance in humans life.
Love is The Balance of The Powerful.
Humans are weak.
So was The Misfit.
To analyze him wont take more than few words in a minute time.
Simple as water (we Bulgarians say).
