Similar to my most recent plugin, this plugin gives you a new bbcode called ‘hideit’ which will hide any text between the opening and closing tags. In order to keep it simple I have not included a button for this plugin.
Installation is simple. Click the link below to show the download link for the plugin, and then upload as normal.

Hi Aaron,
Thanks for this plugin. I am having trouble getting it to work though. If I understand correctly, adding bbcode like:
[hideit][/hideit]
[hideit][/hideit]
[hideit][/hideit]
to my template like this should be replaced by the plugin to enable the hide/unhide links. However, for my site, this [hideit] and [/hideit] remain and are just displayed with the comments. It’s like it’s not being processed. The plugin is enabled in the admin interface.
I modified the comments.php template like this:
[hideit][/hideit]
I tried modifiying the priority of the hide_it_replace to 8, from 10, to ensure it is processed before any other filter on the comment_text. That seemed to have no effect.
The JS is being included properly in the of each page.
PHP version is 4.4.4 and webserver is apache 1.3.33. I have also tried PHP 5.1.6 with no effect.
Can you provide any assistance or tips for getting this to work?
Thanks.
Oops, the php code got stripped. Between the [hideit] and [/hideit] and php calls to the_content, comment_text and the_excerpt. Those calls still work properly, but they are wrapped in [hideit][/hideit]
They only work inside of a post.
That makes sense. Thank you for the information.
Hiya, I’m really glad I have found this information. Today bloggers publish just about gossips and internet and this is really irritating. A good site with exciting content, that is what I need. Thanks for keeping this web site, I will be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Can’t find it.
