Anthology of Ideas

How would I go about adding the rich text edit options to the front page. I see it on the single.php pages but I have been unable to move this feature to the index.php page. I’m basing everything off the default theme template. What do I need to change to move this feature to the front page? So far I’ve only been able to add the comments and normal box onto the index.php but can’t do much else.
