Why does it do that? Shouldn’t the plugin be dictating how the link should behave? It’s definitely not displaying comments inline.

(Using the latest version of Wordpress, the stable release of aWP, and either Internet Exploder or Firefox.)

Looks like if I have the comments open by default, then the slide and inline seems to work just fine. However, if I don’t have it open by default, then clicking on the link just takes me to the comments page rather than displaying it online.)

Inline comments are enabled, etc.

Well, it’s too bad it doesn’t work.

I’ve inserted the required code into my themes, but no matter where I put it all, when I click the link that is created by the AJAXd code, it just takes me to the single page of the post, which has always shown the comments. So it really doesn’t do anything, so far.

I can post more info, lines of code for my theme, etc. Whatever people need.

edit: I just saw that you are busy from the 21st on. This is sad, but oh well. :) Glad the “good kind” of things are going on in your life. :)

This problem is resolved. I downloaded FireBug, and it gave me some interesting errors. The helpful one was an error you get when you try to use AJAX to load an external link. It turns out that if your blog address is different from your WordPress install address, you’ll have problems with AJAX.

I have had this blog for several years, and in the initial installation, the WordPress install directory was set as different from the blog address, since I’m using a subdomain. I changed them both to be the same, and everything works fine now.
